2 Kings 2:23-24 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
A lot of we parents are guilty of not training our children the right way. And we will be held responsible for whatever happens to them if we do not do the needful.
The above passage spoke about the children insulting a old man and a Man of God forvthat matter. The question is, where were there parents and what have they been doing in the lifes of their children to extent of them insulting an oldman who happens to be an anointed man of God? Let’s assume some of them were trained up, what were they doing with the untrained till they were consumed by she bears? Do you know that there are so many she bears out there if we refuse to train up our children.
Most often we give excuses for their unruly behaviours and we claim they will out grow it.
That’s a typical lie from the pit of hell. The Bible says ‘train up’ , it means it’s a continuous process, we should start early till they grow up ,even till they are married.
I remember when my first child was around 7 to 8 months, he was pushing his water flask and looking at my face, ‘I kept telling him ,if it falls, I will beat you’ . He eventually pushed it down and broke it. I beat him very very well not minding his age. After then when I talk ,he immediately do the right thing.
Another scenario was when I had his sister, he was btw 5 to 6 months when I conceived the sister, so you can imagine his age when I delivered the sister.Then, I still wear diaper for him and the baby sister then. He woke up with wee in his diaper again one day. I called him and told him that ” I can’t be wearing diaper for you and your sister, anytime you wee in your diaper, I will flog you”. Family, by the grace of God ,since that day till date , He never urinated on himself again, even at night .He will be 13 by june.
Let’s not wait till they are grown, start when they are babies.
Somebody was joking one day and said her son told her Mum that her mouth was smelling and she was laughing because she felt it’s funny. What do you want such a child to become in the future?
I believe if a child does anything wrong, correct, scold or discipline the child immediately .
A child did something wrong and we are laughing that our child is smart and very vocal . Please let’s stop this so called 21st century parenting!
For our children’s good don’t justify them anytime ,anyone reports them. Most often we parents are fund of saying I, know my child can’t do that. Not good enough!
I remember growing up ,if anyone comes to report us ,without my Mum finding out anything, she will immediately discipline us in front of the people without listening to our sides of the story. My siblings and I used to be very angry with the impression that she hates us. When we were grown ,I asked her why she always treated us that way, she sighed and said, ” too many wicked people in the world, that her scolding us in front of those people, will make them satisfied, peradventure they have any evil intentions before, they will be satisfied that their Mother has dealt with them”.
Infact I was so grateful because she was indirectly protecting us from the she bears of this world.
Our children are gift and we are responsible for their safety. Let’s train them up in the way of the Lord and they will never bring sorrow or disgrace to us in Jesus matchless name 🙏.
